Welcome to The Town Cellar, a wine and spirits destination in downtown Darien carrying a curated & special collection of bottles from artisan producers around the world who are committed to their craft as well as the responsible stewardship of their lands.
Our focus is squarely on smaller producers, family-owned wineries, distilleries, and craft brewers, and you’ll find that most of our labels come from those practicing organic and or biodynamic methods.
We believe that wines and spirits can generate thoughtful and meaningful conversations about a wide variety of topics. So, we’ve done our best to create an environment that encourages just that; we host free tastings each Friday, thought-provoking classes once a month, and are proud to count some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry among our team members.
Since 1975.
When Lauren Hokin's grandmother, Connie Barnum, opened Glen Liquors in 1975, it was a tiny package store across from the Noroton Heights train station. During the next five decades, the store became a part of the fabric of the Darien community. Here we are almost 50 years later in a new location, with a new look and the same thoughtful approach to sharing our favorite grapes, grains + gifts to elevate your toasting, pairing and entertaining experience.

Every Friday, we invite you to visit The Town Cellar for a complimentary pour to savor the best of the season.
One Thursday a month, we host a monthly wine class that’s open to the neighborhood. Our classes are a fun and low-key way to learn more about a region, grape variety, production method and more.
