Several generations of Cantalapiedras have worked this land in Rueda, but until recently they sold off their fruit to larger p roducers. In 1949 they started to make their own wines and have continued to do so with organic farming, and a gentle touch in the cellar. The ‘Arenisca‘ from a single vineyard spends one year in used French oak before bottling unfined/unfiltered with very little sulfur added. Juicy blackberry, black plum, plush tannins. Not the bombastic Tinto de Toro of their neighbors; full-bodied without being weighty.
