Carboniste is on a mission to create unique expressions of sparkling wine that speak directly to their California origins rather than trying to imitate Champagne or Cava. This traditional-method sparkling Albariño was a revelation! You get all of the wonderful qualities of this variety but with depth, creaminess and lovely delicate bubbles. The Gomes Vineyard is so off the beaten-path that it doesn't even belong to a wine appellation. It sits on Andrus Island on the river delta where it is, surprisingly, perfectly suited to farming Albariño and was established by a Portuguese family in the late 1800's. Just as fun and delicious as it sounds. Super refreshing, speaks to the variety and the sun-loving, fun-loving California influence. Perfect with grilled seafood, or sipping by the pool with friends.
