This northern Piemonte region may not have the name recognition today of its southern neighbors in Barolo and Barbaresco, but they have been making top-quality wine in this region for centuries longer. Predominantly Nebbiolo with up to 10% Vespolina, as is traditional in this area. The wine rests at least 24 months in large barrels, then at least 1 year in bottle before release. Very pretty nose, bright red fruits, rose petals, vibrant acidity on the palate with weight and texture that builds the longer it's opened. Unbelievable value for Nebbiolo lovers from one of the best vintages in the last decade.
