Isabelle and Jean-Yves Vantey began Domaine des Rouges-Queues with 1ha of vines in the appellation of Maranges in 1998. All fruit is harvested by hand and fermented spontaneously in a combination of stainless steel and open-top wood fermenters. The wines are aged for 11-12 months in used barrel and are bottled with low to no sulfur, depending on the conditions. These wines are pure, vibrant, and full of character. Delicious when they're young, but absolutely worth cellaring a few for 5-8 years.
