La Garagista, led by Deirdre Heekin, is ushering in a new era for hybrid varieties in the US. Their farm/winery up in Vermont is paving the way for today's winegrowers to embrace these once shunned varieties because they are climate-hardy and, in the right hands, make beautiful wines. This rosé is 100% Brianna which spends two days fermented as whole clusters to give it color and then several months later, skins from pressed Marquette and La Crescent from the same vineyard were added to give its gentle tannic structure and aroma. The winemaker describes this wine as "floral, lychee, and savory elements with slatey minerality and soft acidity at the finish".
