The late Jacky Blot, and now his son Jean-Philippe, have been instrumental in putting the Montlouis appellation on the same level of greatness for Chenin Blanc as its neighbor Vouvray. Their meticulous, organic farming, single plot Chenins are elegant and terroir-expressive and this Champagne-method sparkling wine is no exception. The wine is aged in neutral barrels and bottled with very little dosage for a clean, dry finish and soft, delicate bubbles.
