Luis Pato makes this “rebel” wine to prove that Baga does not always have to make big, rustic, tannic wine; it can also be fresh, aromatic, and a bit softer. Baga is often compared to Nebbiolo because of its structure and rosey floral notes. The old vines used for this wine give it great concentration of flavor and the clay soils of the vineyard help to soften the tannins of this rustic grape. The aroma of this wine is really captivating! Florals, tarragon, black currant, and olives, plush with silky tannins on the palate. This would a great wine to serve to rosemary crusted lamb chops or duck.
