Outward Wines Santa Ynez Valley Syrah

The Syrah from Santa Ynez Valley comes from two sites one mile apart; predominantly the Pace Vineyard, farmed organically by Ryan’s father, and a small portion of white grapes from Valley View Vineyard. Whole cluster Syrah is blended with 5% Viognier a la Cote-Rotie, and the resemblance is noticeable, but retains its bright, sunny California quality. This has everything you want from classic Syrah, a little cracked pepper, a little salumi, wild blackberry and cherry. Precise, concentrated flavor without feeling weighty.
